Pain Points

Design

Sketches

Key screens have been sketched to begin visualizing and mapping out the user experience on the platform. These initial designs include essential pages such as the landing/home page, menu, and booking process. Each screen plays a vital role in guiding users through a smooth and engaging journey from discovery to final booking.

High Fidelity Design

After creating the high-fidelity prototype, usability testing let real users interact with it to evaluate navigation, booking flow, and the effectiveness of the visual layout.

User Testing

After a productive round of user testing, participant feedback had a significant impact on the design changes. The data collected informed a stronger final iteration, resulting in a refined car service application that effectively addressed user needs and provided practical solutions

Iterations

During the iteration phase, revisiting insights from user interviews significantly influenced the design process. The primary objective was a complete redesign, focusing on reorganizing the color scheme and UI elements to evoke a more vibrant and joyful user experience.

First iteration

I replaced the plain white background with a lively pink gradient to better reflect Valentina Minipancakes’ vibrant personality.

Other iteration

Another change was adding color to UI elements—like green for availability—and inverting many colors for easier scanning.

For the final revision, the focus shifted to enhancing visual clarity and readability. Key improvements included refining UI elements to make them easier to scan and adjusting typography to ensure that text was more legible and accessible across devices.

Reflection

This case study reinforced the importance of organization and fidelity sketches. I also gained a deeper appreciation for fonts and their ability to shape a project’s mood. Valentina Minipancakes pushed me out of my comfort zone with color, making it unlike any project I’ve done before. Overall, booking should be seamless, allowing users to browse services without wasting time and ensuring timely client responses.

Next Step

I’d like to revisit this website in the future, adding modern UI and stunning visuals as I continue to grow my knowledge and practice in UI/UX design.
